The other day, I met a lady who is in a business of charter jets. Her business was quite interesting and we started a conversation. I teased her how she has a glamorous job. She humbly said that she doesn’t meet the people or celebrity who reserve the charter jets. She laughed saying that she only deals with their assistants. I asked her if the current economy has affected her business. She said that usually during Superbowl, she gets really busy reserving the charter jets but this year, even the rich and famous are feeling the economic crunch.

As a young man in my twenties, I have always been a car fanatic. I love cars and mechanics. In fact, I attended an automotive trade school for a couple of years with the intention of getting into the automotive business. Although, I didn’t complete my automotive studies I am still very interested in fixing cars. My friends and family usually ask me advice on fixing their cars.
The economy has been tight and I noticed that more people are keeping their old cars rather than buying new cars. My Dad recently had some car trouble and asked me to take a look at his car engine. I knew right away that what he needed was a new water pump. One of my friends from the automotive school told me about getting car parts from a website called, “247spares.co.uk”. I went online and found great deals on car parts. They offer a huge selection on both used and new car parts for all kinds of car makes and models. Their prices were so cheap that I also got a timing belt kit for my Dad’s car.
Once the car parts came in, I immediately installed them in my Dad’s car. My Dad was so happy with the way his car drives and with the money he saved!

He has a lot of sentimental attachments to the land and would like to build a beautiful, custom home in the property.

They offer great pricing for various kinds of homes from their Classic, Estate, and Masterpiece collections.
My Dad checked out their website, “Shumacherhomes.com” and was very impressed with the designs, prices and their customer friendly approach. It makes a lot of sense for him to build his own home because he has certain tastes, and needs that only a customized home can provide. I know that he always dreamt of a beautiful house in Baton Rouge that he can be proud of.

I saw an interesting book on the shelf of the Finance section in my favorite bookstore. The book was written by a popular finance guy who talked about personal finances. He created an acronym, PERK in relation to expenses. His principle is that we make enough money but we spend too much. He suggested that we ask ourselves what our goals, and priorities are so that we know where our money is going and what we can forego so that we do not spend money on things that do not contribute to our personal goals. Lastly, he talked about PERK that is to be remembered when categorizing expenses. “P” stands for Postponing expenses, “E” stands for Eliminating expenses, “R” stands for reducing expenses, and “K” stands for keeping expenses.
