A friend sent me this in an email. I’ve never heard of Bent Objects and wonder what it is all about? I mean, the photo is funny as hell. But is there more?

Watching the people gather at the mall in Washington DC is remarkable. Everybody are celebrating the inauguration of our first black American president. We have a lot of hope for the new president but he is facing very tough challenges. To begin with, there are two wars that he has to contend and ofcourse our struggling economy. It took many years for our economy change from having surplus to having a huge deficit. People are saying it will take months and maybe even a year to see better changes in our economy. Already the new president has made some innovative choices in his cabinet. I hope that he makes the right choices and decisions in his presidency.

My brother and I spoke on the phone today and he told me about his new purchase. He bought a brand new car last weekend after driving the same car for fifteen years. His son is graduating from college in the spring and he no longer has to pay for his son’s college tuition. He can now afford to buy a new car. Instead of trading in his old car for pennies at the dealership, he contacted the Philadelphia Red Cross Car Donation. For years, he has been donating clothes, and money to the Philadelphia Red Cross because he it is a responsible and caring organization.
My brother said that he filled out a form online and then called the Philadelphia Red Cross Car Donation in the afternoon. They came and at no cost to my brother, picked up his car on the following day. The car donation experts evaluated his old car and provided him with the best tax deduction. By donating his car, he is able to help people with disabilities and disadvantages to get jobs. This makes my brother feel good that he can help other people through his old car that he has already used for fifteen years!

Today, I’m off from work and is enjoying a nice, sunny day. In a little bit, I’ll get ready to go to my cousins’ house and spend the afternoon barbecuing. I usually look forward to holidays, but this year the Martin Luther King Day is special because it coincides with the year the Mr. Obama will become the first black President. I think I’ll take my nieces and nephews to the King’s Day parade and watch marching bands, etc. I’ll take some time to tell them about the courageous Martin Luther King.
