Actually, I don’t really know all that much about how the holiday came about in honor of St. Valentine. I don’t know if he did something great or was just persecuted in his day.
I do know that this is the day that any man with a sweetheart had better be smart and buy her something nice to demonstrate his love for her.
I like to buy both flowers and something sweet, like a box of gourmet chocolates or even truffles.

My friends and I went on so many fun spring break vacations and we’re still looking forward to more trips. The economy is not great but it we still need to eat, and have some rest and recreation. This means that we have to be more frugal and wise where we spend our money. Some of my friends are still in college and some of us are still paying for our college loans, we need help in getting the best vacation deals. The company offers many awesome deals on airfare, hotels and party packages.

I saw a full ad on cell phones this morning’s paper. I am waiting for my cell phone contract to expire next month then I can get a new phone. I saw a blackberry smartphone for much less than it has been usually advertised. There are so many choices on cell phones and it is getting harder to decide which one is the right phone for me. New phones have a lot of features and tend to be more expensive, as well as the service fee. The lure of a new cell phone is calling me.

Many years ago, I watched my Mom clip coupons before going to the supermarket. I also saw how my Dad gets the best deals on his purchases by calling various businesses for the best prices. I am planning a short trip to the east coast to meet an old buddy and would also like to save some money. I got an enterprise coupon and saved a lot in my car rental. I learned a lot of financial management from my parents.

I was amazed at the story behind Tim Warner of the Arizona Cardinals. He was a supermarket bagger and one day, someone came up to him and told him that he is in the wrong profession. His story sounds like the movie, “The Invincible” where there was an open call and this guy out of nowhere got in the Steeler team. Tim Warner became a Superbowl star. I heard that after this game, he plans to retire. I hope Arizona Cardinals win and that he gets a ring before he retires.
