During the Christmas holidays, I saw a lot of flat screen LCD televisions at discounted prices. I thought that the Holiday sale was a great opportunity to get a nice flat screen television so I got one for my bedroom. Tonight, I’ll be going to my Dad’s house and spend New Year’s Eve with him. We’ll watch TV and wait for the ball to drop. Now that I’m older, I’d rather stay home and spend time with my Dad and family rather than go out to nightclubs. I’d rather be safe at home than party outside where there’s a lot of people on the road who may have been drinking. I am excited about the New Year. A new year symbolizes the end of 2008 which was not a great year for me. I am hoping that 2009 will be a much better, happier new year!

My sister and her son lives in Philadelphia. Almost every year, they come to Los Angeles and spend a few days with me. I take my nephew to the popular amusement parks, and water parks. We always have a blast spending time together. But this summer, my sister called me and asked me if I can come to Philadelphia and spend a few days with my nephew at a summer camp. She had registered herself and her son to attend a weekend at the Poconos Summer Camp but her manager asked her to go on a business trip that weekend. She asked if I can take my nephew to the summer camp, instead. I told her that I will be happy to take my nephew, Steve to the summer camp.
Steve and I are excited about going to the Poconos Summer Camp. They have many fun weekend activities such as fishing, boating, campfires, and ice cream social. It will also be a great experience to join the Archery and Fishing contests. They have lots of exciting games such as the “Ultimate Scavenger Hunt”, “Teams Course Challenge”, “Robin Hood Shootout”, and “Knockout Hoops”. We can also go swimming or hiking and that would be fun, too. I’m looking forward to Camp Kresge’s famous dusk bonfire where we can sit around, sing songs, tell stories, and many more. The camp provides comfortable overnight accommodations, delicious meals served in their own Dining Hall. Camp Kresge has very well trained staff and they promote fun and safety for everyone. This will be a different and fun summer experience for us!

It’s funny when I think how my cousin is driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to celebrate New Year’s Day. Most people are driving to Las Vegas to celebrate the New Year, but not my cousin. He has lived in Las Vegas for the past five years, but he comes often to visit my aunt and uncle. He has very good values and priorities. I am proud of him for putting his parents, family first before partying which is usually what young guys in their twenties do.
